My May Make-up Favourites!

Hello again!

I feel I have been less active than I have been recently and that could possibly be down to an overload of work and exams at uni but I am very happy to say that's all over and done with now and I am home for summer! So hopefully I'll be much more active now and to start off with I'm going to be writing a bit about a few different make-up must haves I have discovered this month that I am so excited to share with you.

And to start things off I want to briefly talk about Mac's Velvet Teddy lipstick. I'm sure there are tonnes of reviews out there of this lipstick because it is literally amazing so I'll try and keep this short & sweet!

Wow. Right okay this is my all time favourite lipstick and I wish I'd have bought it sooner! It's such a neutral colour and you can pair it with absolutely any make-up look because its just so versatile. It's especially good when you have bright eye make-up or eye make-up that really stands out because the nude lips tone it down so it's not too much. It's also good for neutral looks because it just brings it all together. So all in all, perfect shade of lipstick! Mac lipsticks are also well known for lasting aaaagess on your lips, I can safely say I agree with this. Velvet teddy tends to last all day, even with eating and drinking and I'm an incredibly messy eater too and it's a real trooper when it comes to that! Sometimes when you buy matte lipsticks they can really dry out your lips which I hate but this lipstick has a hint of moisture too it but still has a matte effect which is perfect.

Next I would like to talk about the Technic False Eyelash Applicator...

Okay so these are like £1-2 on eBay/Amazon or anywhere, which is unbelievably cheap and they come in so handy, like they are arguably the greatest invention to this date! No exaggeration either... So this was obviously invented for people like me as I'm fairly gamy handed when it comes to applying false eyelashes it just doesn't work. They end up half way up my lid and I look like some sort of drag queen it's ridiculous! Then one day I was browsing through Amazon and came across this and for like £1.35 I thought to myself even if it didn't work I've hardly lost out, didn't think much of it at the time then it arrived and I gave it a try and it's undoubtedly amazzzzinggg. It doesn't even take long to get used to how it works either and now I have no problem putting on false eyelashes, and it's so much easier than using tweezers or your fingers! So if you struggle putting on false eyelashes, like me, this is a must have.

These other two discoveries I made this month happened when I was trying to find ways of getting Makeup Geek's Utopia pigment to stay in place and look as good as it should! And I was successful... I found these goddess' Mac prep + prime fix spray and Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue.

These two products are the only two products I have found to work with this Utopia pigment. Both products are useful for different things but together are the perfect combination when working with pigments such as utopia as there is so much fallout and the pigments themselves are fairly chunky. When using the glitter glue I squirt the tiniest amount onto the back of my hand and using my finger apply it to the eyelid like you would an eyeshadow. This is the perfect base/primer when working with pigments because it is so sticky (like glue of course) and the pigments are going to stick to this sooo well so be careful with it! The prep+prime fix plus spray is wonderful for all manners of things... Its great to spray your face before and after applying your make-up and it is also great when it comes to pigments which I want to talk about mainly here. Utopia works best when applied slightly wet with a brush so it gives a metallic look but water just doesn't do the trick because it never tends to stick and just gets you in a glittery mess. Which is better than just a normal mess but it's a mess all the same! Spraying your brush once or twice with this spray and then applying the utopia pigment works wonders, here's a look a created using this today.
